This syrup is a unique taste treat, if you like maple syrup you will love our Shagbark Hickory Syrup. It's flavor is more subtle and complex than maple. While maple syrup can overpower foods, our hickory syrup blends well with many dishes. Combine with butter and it's great as a glaze on any grilled meat or seafood, add to stir fried dishes and baked goods, combine with ketchup,onions and butter for a delicious homemade BBQ sauce.
Our syrups are crafted from ingredients grown or gathered on our family farm in Holmes County, Ohio or purchased from other local growers. These ingredients are combined with natural evaporated cane juice crystals and in some cases maple syrup and pure well water in small batches to produce a truly unique collection of seasonal syrups. We use only fresh ingredients with no artificial colors or flavors and certainly no corn syrup.
