CL Family Spotlight: Firecracker Bakery
Lynn Wambaugh describes herself as a "just a girl addicted to baking" but anyone that has met her or tasted Firecracker Bakery's goodies knows she is much more! This tenacious mom and small-business owner has an infectious spirit - so infectious that we're pretty sure it might have gotten into her cookies and is what makes them taste SO good! Read on to get to know her and the story behind Firecracker Bakery:
Q: What's the story behind your business, and how did you get started?
A: As the founder and owner of Firecracker Bakery, I am passionate about creating smiles and bringing joy and happiness through a simple sweet homemade treat. That's how it all got started 6 years ago. I was a stay at home mom, but very active in my community. I loved reaching out to other families and found myself joining groups like Moms Club, MOPS and also became a neighborhood tutor. I enjoy getting involved with other people, building relationships and supporting community members. When you reach out and care about others you realize there are a lot of celebrations and unfortunate events that people experience. Being able to bake for people and bring a smile to their face and an ounce of joy made my day! The more people I got to know, the more baking I was doing! Eventually I was encouraged to turn my passion into something bigger, that's when Firecracker Bakery was born!
So how did we come up with the name of my bakery? Well, I was born on the 4th of July and with that inspiration my sister Leslie (graphic designer and marketing genius behind the bakery) came up with the name, Firecracker Bakery. My mom, Director of Procurement (meaning she shops for all the butter and fresh ingredients :) ) always said I had the perfect birthday because I have always been a firecracker!
Q: What makes your products unique?
Firecracker Bakery is a small batch bakery where cookies are rolled out by hand and made to order. From the beginning, my vision has been to make every order with a warm personal touch and strong focus for every customer to love every bite. We specialize in handcrafted baked goods made to order, specifically Firecracker Burst cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookie Cakes!
When a Firecracker customer chooses my bakery for special occasions and gifts, I am honored by their trust and belief in what Firecracker Bakery can bring to their important event.
Q: What do you like about being part of the Celebrate Local family?
A: Joining the Celebrate Local Family has been amazing! I've been able to learn about so many other talented vendors and have met some pretty great people! It's such a positive place full of energy and encouragement, it's really a perfect fit for Firecracker! I'm so thankful they brought me on board!
