This week we are shining the Spotlight on one of our wonderful Ohio wineries, Eldchrist Winery!

Please, tell us your story...

Eldchrist Winery is our family owned winery in Plain City, Ohio. The word Eldchrist rhymes with “Held, Kissed.” In deciding on the name Eldchrist, we wanted to incorporate the theme of “something old, meant to last, and worthy of patience,” We believe our wines and our winery meet these criteria.

Our wines are developed in a style conducive to the Ohio growing season. Our wines feature higher acidity, more fruit flavors, and lower tannins. Our wines are crafted on-site, with all grape crushing, pressing, and bottling performed in our wine barn. Our wine selection includes a broad spectrum, from sweet whites, a delightful rose’, and a full selection of dry reds. Typical varieties include: Traminette, Vignoles, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonel grapes. In addition to wines produced from Ohio grapes, we also offer premium reserve wines crafted from California grapes. Our Reserve reds are dry and made with unique winemaking techniques and proprietary yeast blends.

Our tasting room is housed in a charming old farmhouse originally built in 1863, on the banks of scenic Big Darby Creek in Union County. We love our historic farmhouse and tasting room, and devote any free time to "TLC" and making sure our customers enjoy a great tasting room experience!

We have many favorite wines but currently, our popular Kitten's Kiss sweet traminette wine is getting rave reviews.  We enjoy introducing this unique wine to Celebrate Local customers.

Regarding our association with the Celebrate Local family, we honestly feel the family atmosphere in your store and in our interaction with the CL staff!  We know this because that is the same family approach we have at Eldchrist Winery. Being able to showcase our wines in your two stores, and visit with your customers during tasting demos has been a significant part of our business and has definitely helped us promote our wines in Central Ohio.

Keep an eye on our in-store tasting and demo calendar to catch Eldchrist Winery there soon! You can also pick up a bottle of their wines at both store locations!
