This week we're shining the spotlight on Rachel Rumpke, who owns Blue Mountain Burlap.
What's the story behind your business, and how did you get started?
Honestly, we got started making wreaths because we couldn't find anything readily available in stores that was our style. We started making wreaths for our own homes and it grew from there. We have sold online and at local craft shows.
What makes your products unique?
Our wreaths fit into the rustic/simplistic style. We make one wreath at a time, taking special care in choosing only the best high-quality supplies for each. We design, assemble (and in some cases cut/paint our own wood signs for the wreaths) ourselves, nothing is mass produced. Each wreath is made with special care from our in-home studio in Shandon, Ohio (a small little country town in Southeastern OH).
What do you like about being part of the Celebrate Local family?
I love that Celebrate Local gives local small businesses the opportunity to reach a larger customer base. There are so many talented artisans represented in the Celebrate Local stores. It's nice that it gives buyers the option to support local small businesses rather than just the big box stores.
You can find Blue Mountain Burlap at Celebrate Local Easton and Celebrate Local Liberty Center. Select Blue Mountain Burlap wreaths are listed online, or give us a call at 1-844-BUY-OHIO to order any of her beautiful burlap wreaths or discuss custom orders!
